Life is a Journey

After one month break, it’s time to make plan for another year. I have to finish the documents related to my separation from this agency. I went to the main office in Jakarta on Monday morning.

When I filled the form, my colleague from HR section handed me over the letter of offer. For seconds I just read the letter on my hands. It was two years appointment in Papua. My week began with big surprise.

I applied for this post for many reasons. 1. One of beautiful places in Indonesia, possibly the most beautiful. 2. The level is higher than mine before 3. Maternal death is 3 times higher than the national average 4. The perfect place if you want to hide from anybody hahahahaha (hey, it’s impossible. Since I am an internet addicted, I will not move to the place where there is no internet connection at least, at the moment….) etc etc The panel who was interviewing me said that I have to wait for 8 weeks to know the decision; however, after 6 weeks, I am not sure I will pass the test. It’s not Jakarta who made the decision but it’s Bangkok, the regional office. That is why, I almost couldn’t believe when I read my name on the paper.

Hm, as usual, there’s a conflict. I just revised my CV and intend to send it. There are couple interesting posts outside the country. One post in Cambodia is really tempting. However, I have to slap my face and say: “Be focus! You postponed your study to next year. Stop playing around. It’s true that you have to enjoy your life, but do it in a smart way”

So, did I sign the letter? Not yet. The office gave me enough time to think. But I have to make decision within a week. And of course, prepararation and packing because I will not see Bandung again for another years….
